This class is a cheat code! Designed for performers who are new to film and television and want a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to book the job, and show up to set prepared once you do. From commercial auditions to leading roles in feature films. Each week, students in Audition Fundamentals will receive audition sides from various projects currently casting, be provided constructive feedback on their performances and the opportunity to implement changes to their performance in a safe and collaborative environment. This class offers an in-depth exploration of what makes each type of audition unique — and gives you the tools to stand out at every level!

Have a story you’re ready to bring to life on screen? Whether you’re an actor with an idea, a filmmaker developing your first project, or a storyteller eager to learn the craft, this class will guide you step-by-step from concept to production-ready script.

Our Short Film Foundations is designed to help you adapt your idea into a fully realized short film screenplay while understanding the creative and practical demands of short-form storytelling. Through lessons in structure, formatting, and writing dialogue, you’ll learn how to craft a script that’s both artistically powerful and production-ready.

In this class, you’ll learn how to:

  • Develop and refine your concept into a cohesive short film narrative

  • Properly use industry-standard screenwriting format and visual storytelling technique

  • Write compelling, authentic dialogue that drives emotion and character

  • Shape your story to work within a limited budget and production scope

  • Understand the short film festival landscape and plan your submission strategy

  • Create a short film script that stands out to programmers, producers, and audiences alike

By the end of the course, you’ll have a polished, ready-to-produce short film script and the confidence to take it into development or production.

Taught by Writer/Director Jinjara Mitchell. A member of Women in the Director’s Chair, Jinjara’s debut short “The Ornament” premiered at several Oscar Qualifying film festivals including Hollyshorts, Edmonton International Film Festival and Female Eye Film Festival. “The Ornament” has been nominated for several major festival and industry awards including a Best Short Drama nomination from the British Columbia Academy of Motion Picture Science Awards.

Classes are held online and are open to all experience levels. No prior screenwriting experience required — just a story worth telling.
